Public Hearing: Revision to Local Law to Authorize a Partial Real Property Tax Exemption for Volunteer Firefighters and Volunteer Ambulance Workers

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Town of Roxbury, New York

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board for the Town of Roxbury at the Roxbury Town Hall, 56 Hillcrest Drive, Roxbury NY on the 6th day of November 2025, at 6:00 p.m. to revise a previously adopted Local Law to Authorize a Partial Real Property Tax Exemption for Volunteer Firefighters and Volunteer Ambulance Workers.

Copies of the proposed Local Law shall be available at the time of the hearing and shall be available at times prior to and after the hearing at the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours for the purpose of inspection or procurement by interested persons.

Public Hearing: Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit Established in General Municipal Law

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TOWN OF ROXBURY, NEW YORK

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board for the Town of Roxbury on Thursday November 6, 2025 at 5:45 p.m. at the Town Hall, 56 Hillcrest Drive, Roxbury,  NY, regarding the adoption of Local Law No. 2 of 2025 - Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit Established in General Municipal Law §3-c.  This law is being proposed to comply with subdivision 5 of the General Municipal Law §3-c which expressly authorizes the Town Board to override the tax levy limit by the adoption of a local law approved by vote of at least sixty percent (60%) of the Town Board.  At such time and place all persons interested in the subject matter thereof will be heard concerning the same.

Copies of the proposed law shall be available at the time of the hearing and shall be available at times prior to and after the hearing at the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours for the purpose of inspection or procurement by interested persons.

The proposed Local Law No. 2 of 2025 - Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit Established in General Law §3-c establishes the Roxbury Town Board’s intent to override the limit on the amount of real property taxes that may be levied by the Town of Roxbury.

Public Hearing: Preliminary Budget

TOWN OF ROXBURY
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the Preliminary Budget for the Town of Roxbury for the fiscal year 2026 has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it is available for inspection during regular business hours.

Notice is further given that the Town Board will hold a public Hearing on the Preliminary Budget at 6:00 pm on November 6, 2025, in the Town Hall at which time any person may be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget or any item therein.

Pursuant to Section 108 of the Town Law, the proposed salaries of elected officials are as follows:  Councilman (4) $6,427.25 ea., Justice (2) $11,138.50 ea., Supervisor $18,631.00, Tax Collector $12,429.00, Town Clerk $51,450.00, Highway Supt. $77,388.00.

The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board will be held at 6:00 pm following the public hearing.

TOWN OF ROXBURY 

Pursuant to Section 103 of the General Municipal Law, the Town Board, Town of Roxbury, will receive sealed bids for approximately 12,000 gallons +/- No. 2 Fuel Oil or Winter Blend (when applicable) to be delivered as needed to the Highway Garage building. This bid will be for the 2025/2026 heating season. 

The following is required: 1) All bids must meet New York State specifications; 2) Winter Blend will be a 60/40 Blend of 60% No. 2 Fuel Oil and 40% Kerosene; 3) Base Prices will be based on the Journal of Commerce Daily Average Albany Posting for No. 2 Fuel oil and Kerosene dated October 31, 2025; and 4) must be accompanied by a certificate of non-collusion.

Bids shall be marked “FUEL OIL BID” and must be received at the Town Clerk’s Office, PO Box 189, 56 Hillcrest Drive, Roxbury, NY  12474 no later than 2:00 pm on November 5, 2025, at which time they shall be opened. The bid will be awarded at the Regular Monthly Meeting of the Town Board to be held November 6, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the Town Hall. 

The Town Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
