The Town Highway department employs a crew that is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 120 miles of roads.
Winter Maintenance Policy
Landscaping and lawns, including not limited to: shrubs trees, flowers, fences, basketball hoops, etc. installed by property owners within town right of way will be the responsibility of the owner and the owner assumes all risk of damage to such items.
How You Can Help:
Be patient and be assured that during snow and/or ice event every reasonable effort will be made to keep the roads open.
Be considerate to snowplow operators.
Do not attempt to stop a snowplow or obstruct its path. They require extra time and distance to stop or avoid traffic.
When approaching snow removal equipment from the rear, travel a minimum of 200 feet behind the equipment allowing for proper sanding and/or abrupt movements.
Do not park in or along any roadway during a snow or ice event. Any vehicles that are parked in the way of snow removal will be reported to proper authorities for removal at owner’s expense.
