Located on the hilltops of the village of Roxbury, discover 'Big Mountain Terrain and Small Mountain Charm' at this family resort that offers skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and snowtubing in the winter months and mountain biking, hiking and chairlift rides April-November. Just a few miles up the mountain from town, Plattekill offers skiers and snowboaders 35 trails, 3 lifts and 1100 feet of vertical fun. Over the past few years, Belleayre Mountain has become one of New York’s premiere ski-resorts. It’s the highest skiable peek (3429’) and boasts the longest skiable trail in the Catskills and it’s only fifteen minutes from Roxbury. Named the “best place to learn to ride and ski in the East” by Skiing Magazine, it offers ski school and “kidscamp” for both young or young-at-heart novices. 38 trails and many racing events.

Only about 40-45 minutes away from Roxbury, Windham Mountain is now entering its 23rd year of operation as a premiere ski and snowboard resort. Windham Mountain boasts a 1,600-foot vertical drop from a 3,100-foot summit with 39 trails nestled among the trees and peaks.

Hunter Mountain has been a popular place for New Yorkers to ski for years. About an hour from Roxbury, it’s a little more of a haul than the other resorts. Hunter’s a place to go if you have just as much fun whooping it up at the Lodge Bar as you do on the slopes.
