In Roxbury’s Kirkside Park on sunny
summer Saturdays, baseball is still every bit the glorious game you remember.
Roxbury’s vintage “base
ball” team, the Roxbury Nine, has revived this gentleman’s sport
as it was played in the Good Olde Days of ‘98. (1898, that is.) Come
hear the crack of a ball against a hand-made wooden bat and watch outfielders
snap up blistering ground balls with their bare hands. The Nine have perfected
the art of the 19th century game with a decade of dedication to authenticity
and bare-knuckle action, and they have the trophies — and the calluses — to
prove it.
Every season in this unspoiled mountain hamlet, you and your family can enjoy
some of the finest, most exciting baseball fielding and hitting you’ve
ever witnessed from these vintage base ball champions. Learn
how the ghosts of the Nine came to revive their storied games in Kirkside
Park . . .

The Roxbury Nine is a Vintage Base Ball Club that stems from the restoration of an historic estate park in the Town of Roxbury, located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains.
