Tom Hynes has served as Supervisor for the past 22 years. Through his many years of service to Roxbury, Tom Hynes has grown into an extraordinarily skilled executive and leader while never losing his deep community connections or that personal touch so essential to keeping a small community running smoothly. During his tenure, he has launched a daunting number of capital and infrastructure projects, including the Grand Gorge DEP Sewer Extension, the Grand Gorge Revitalization project, HUD Housing Rehabilitation Project, the Denver Water District, Roxbury Run Wastewater Upgrade, Grand Gorge water and Roxbury sewer projects.
Supervisor Hynes works closely with the town grant writer to ensure that Roxbury receives funding for such projects as the Vega Hall improvements as well as sidewalks, public programs, and parks development in both Grand Gorge and Roxbury. The new highway garage is currently under construction and will be completed in December.
Last year, thanks to Tom’s leadership, Roxbury garnered the prestigious “Preserve America” designation from the White House, one of only a handful of New York towns to earn this distinction.
