WIM Picnic at Kirkside

Writers in the Mountains is holding a reading and picnic on the island in Kirkside Park, Roxbury, on August 19 from 4-7 pm. All writers who have participated in WIM classes are invited to bring pieces to read, and the general public is invited to come to hear the works read. Everyone attending should bring a picnic supper or a dish to pass as well as a blanket or chair. Paper goods and coffee will be provided. In case of rain the venue will be The Roxbury Arts Group theater.

WIM has a tradition of potluck readings, and this will be the first time that the organization has offered an "al fresco" event. "We have a microphone, and writers with loud voices," says event organizer Ev Ellsworth, "so we should all be able to enjoy the wonderful summer evening and the pleasures of hearing good stories." WIM board president Ann Epner says "this is a wonderful way for people who have been in one class or workshop to get to catch up with the writers from other classes."
