The Roxbury Brass will lead an old-fashioned band
concert reminiscent of an earlier, simpler time on Wednesday, July 11 (rain
date July 12) at 7 p.m. at Binnekill Park on Main Street in Margaretville,
across from NBT Bank.
Traditional and patriotic tunes will be the order of the day as the seven-member Roxbury Brass will play from the performance area adjacent to the Binnekill Stream just as community bands did a century ago. The concert is free and everyone is welcome.
Boy Scout Troop #80 will supply the ice cream from their wagon stationed in the Binnekill Municipal Parking Lot across a footbridge from the park. Bring the family, lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a summer evening listening to music, watching the ducks in the stream, and socializing with friends and neighbors, ice cream cone in hand. All residents of Middletown (and contiguous areas) who are 80 or older to come early for the first-ever portrait of town elders. The photo will be taken at 6:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Historical Society of the Town of Middletown, call 845 586-4973 for more information.
