Step It Up at East Branch for Rally
The East Branch Café Restaurant and Pizzeria is sponsoring a Step It Up 2007 rally in Roxbury at the restaurant on Saturday, April 14 from 2:30--4pm.
Step It Up 2007 is a group that has organized
a National Day of Climate Action involving over 1300 rallies nationwide to
send a message to Congress to enact legislation to reduce carbon emissions
by 80% by 2050 in order to combat global warming. Carbon emissions from human
activity are a major factor in the buildup of harmful greenhouse gasses in
the upper atmosphere. One of co-founders and primary organizers of the Step
It Up national campaign is Jon Warnow, who is a partner in The East Branch
with his father Stan Warnow.
The event at the East Branch is a get together primarily for parents and kids 8-13 (though all are welcome). There will be a presentation on Step It Up's goals and global warming, particularly how it relates to the Catskills, followed by a question and answer period and discussions.
