JOHN HOPKINS |
Many artists have come to the Catskills to be inspired by the natural beauty that we are so fortunate to be surrounded by. Enderlin Gallery will be presenting the works of two artists who have been living and creating their art in the Andes area for over two decades. The exhibition of non-traditional botanicals by Sara Gilbert and expressive landscapes by John Hopkins will be on exhibit at Enderlin Gallery on Main Street in Roxbury from March 10th to April 15th with the Artists’ Reception on Saturday, March 10th from 2-5 pm. The works of both John and Sara portray an adventure with their ever-changing relationships and perspectives of the natural world. John and Sara have been exhibiting their work in galleries and museums throughout the country.
Originally from Roxbury, John Hopkins has been painting the patches of fields and woodlands of the area, revealing his relationship with the ever-changing land, as buildings and barns mushroom and decay. His paintings of sunrises and sunsets add a poetic and philosophical element to his works, enhanced by his personal palette of colors.

SARA GILBERT |
Sara Gilbert’s non-traditional botanical collages provide a glimpse into her more internal relationship with nature, as they reflect the frailty and consistency of the human condition. Expressing the complex biological realities with ornamentation and textural abstraction, she creates images that blend contemporary sensibilities with historical motifs.
Enderlin Gallery’s hours are Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 5 and
by appointment.
