Whet Paint Reunion at RAG

Whet Paint, the annual gallery fundraiser at The Roxbury Arts Group has quickly become one of the area’s most exciting arts events. On Saturday, March 3, “Whet Paint Reunion,” an exhibition of works by over thirty of the talented and dedicated artists who have made this event a success, will open in The Walt Meade Gallery. Each artist will exhibit up to three paintings that represent the full range of his or her work, ones that actually took longer than one afternoon to create.

There will be a gala opening for the public on March 3 from 2-4 pm and the paintings will remain on view through April 14.

“We wanted to repay the generosity of the artists who have contributed work to us, “ says Susan Kenny, RAG’s Executive Director. As in any group show, all paintings will be priced at market value and the artists will receive the proceeds minus the usual gallery commission.

The artists who will be exhibiting are: Terry Bradshaw, Patsy Breiling, Jane Carr, Harold Chazen, Chris Criswell, Marie Cummings, Verna D’Alto, Joan Dworkin, Neil Driscoll, Chris Engel, Rachel Gans, Karen Graves, Oneida Hammond, Phyllis Horowitz, Roshan Houshmand, Nana Kasanof, Betty Kratzenstein, Karen Kucharski, Joseph Kurhajec, Margaret Leveson, Patrice Lorenz, Helene Manzo, Peter Mayer, John Pavlou, Andrew Pelletier, Susan Roecker, Robert Sievert, Marilyn Silver, Richard Simms, Sharon Suess, Jill Tannone, Gerda van Leuwen, Susan Whittenburg, Dan Williams and Ellen Wong.

The Walt Meade Gallery is open Mon.-Fri., 10 am -4 pm, on Sat. 1-4 pm and by appointment. (607) 326-7908.
