Modern Man – Comedy Cabaret at RAG

On Saturday, October 20th, 8 pm, The Roxbury Arts Group presents its annual cabaret evening with the hilarious trio Modern Man. $12 admission. Cash bar and snacks available. (607) 326-7908.

This “somewhat musical” trio who describe themselves as a cross between the Three Tenors and the Three Stooges, bring their hilarious perspective to a wide range of topics from “Abdul the Reluctant Martyr” through “The Worst Dominatrix in LA,” to “Jews Don’t Camp.”

Modern ManAll three have extensive and varied resumes in the world of entertainment.

DAVID BUSKIN has worked as a singer, songwriter, performer, author, playwright, jingle composer ( Clio Award ), girls’ basketball Some of the artists who have recorded his songs: Astrud Gilberto, Judy Collins, Peter, Paul & Mary, Johnny Mathis, Tom Rush, Roberta Flack, Dixie Carter, and Tracy Nelson.

ROB CARLSON – Like Buskin a Brown graduate Rob Carlson has “pretty much thrown away a decent education to do stuff like this.” Also a performing and recording veteran, for years he was a regular contributor to The American Comedy Network, a national radio comedy syndicator, where his barbed vignettes were sung by his alter ego “Ramblin’ Bob.”

GEORGE WURZBACH – Frequent third member of the group when visiting this galaxy. Graduated with honors from Brooklyn’s Midwood . Has appeared onstage with Tom Paxton, Peter Yarrow, Oscar Brand and Mel Torme. Won the 1995 New Folk Award at the Kerrville (TX) Folk Festival .
