The bride arrived at her Kirkside Park nuptials in an elegant red velvet-lined
Victorian surrey. The afternoon sun dappled and lit the gorgeous park lawn
as the groom and his groomsmen awaited the bride's procession on the Kirkside
Park island . . . It was a fairytale setting for bride Farrah Case and her
groom, Jesse Raeder as they were united in matrimony before family and friends
on a perfect late summer afternoon.
As a gift from the Roxbury Nine vintage base ball team, Jesse's bride arrived in Kirkside Park in true 19th century "hansom" elegance, then escorted to the island across the Adirondack-style rustic bridges by her bridesmaids and her father. The bridesmaids' gemlike ruby red dresses were a stunning contrast to the burnished gold and oranges of the newly turning leaves and the stunning emerald lawn. With the sun dancing and sparkling off the East Branch stream, Jesse and Farrah exchanged their vows in the perfect light of late afternoon.
After receiving their guests, the newlyweds boarded the surrey, now festooned
with white tulle, red and white roses and an old-fashioned "Just Married" hand-painted
banner. The carriage was strewn within with white rose petals and champagne
and flutes were waiting aboard for the bride and groom on their first journey
as man and wife: a leisurely and luxurious carriage ride up Roxbury's Main
Street and back across the Park to their waiting family, friends, and of
course, the photographer! Best wishes to Jesse and Farrah for joy together
and many rich and happy challenges ahead.
