Live Music and Merriment
Enderlin Gallery presents an eclectic collection of abstract art where intuition
is juxtaposed with structure, and improvisation works with the chosen motif
to create a space defined by line, all with concrete references to nature.
On exhibit are works by Jeanette Fintz, Roshan Houshmand and Rebecca Welz,
all of whose works are nationally and internationally collected, highly acclaimed
and extremely thought -provoking.

Jeanette Fintz |
Jeanette Fintz is an abstract painter who resides and paints in Surprise, New York. She is also an arts writer, independent curator and art educator. The intermix of being a native New Yorker and now a resident of the lush Hudson River Valley is evident in her work, which combines an urban edginess with the lyrical influences of her natural surroundings. Jeanette’s paintings bring symmetrically ordered repetitive elliptical, circular and floral.shapes to layer and co-mingle with fluid streams of poured color, clashing the modalities of the decorative arts against the abstract expressionist gesture. In her work, the presence of both energies characterizes the artist’s glimpse of divine harmony, while her acceptance of the unexpected visual event acknowledges the inevitable imperfection of human condition
Roshan Houshmand is an international artist residing in Andes, NY, whose work has been exhibited and collected extensively in the US and Europe. Her recent “Event Paintings” are based on physics, inspired by a lecture by Theoretical Physicist, Brian Greene last year at the Andes Hunting Tavern. Using imagery from particle tracks occurring in bubble chambers, these paintings reveal an art form that is strangely familiar, though never before seen, with an evocatively energetic, organically lyrical, universal quality.
Rebecca Welz, represented by The
June Kelly Gallery in NYC, The Butters Gallery in Portland, Oregon and Sculpturesite
Gallery in San Fransisco, currently residing in NYC and Margaretville, will
be exhibiting her intriguing “Folded
Paintings” and “Shingle Paintings”. Light is the element
that makes the work come alive, passing through it, reflecting off of it
and being absorbed. The “Folded Paintings” which bring to mind
Japanese folded screens, are Plexiglas forms, painted with a process that
involves building the surface up with multiple layers of paint similar to
glazing in traditional painting techniques which produce tremendous effects
when light passes through them. The "Shingle Pieces" are made up
of small rectangles overlapped to create a hanging that drops off of a pole
attached away from the wall, which also creating a shimmering surface of
beautiful light and color.
